كشف فلاديمير بيتكوفيتش، المدير الفني للمنتخب الجزائري لكرة القدم يوم الخميس، إن رياض محرز، نجم أهلي جدة السعودي ليس مستعدا للعودة للمنتخب حاليا، مؤكدا أن ما يهمه هو مجموعة اللاعبين الذين اختارهم. وكشف بيتكوفيتش، خلال مؤتمر صحفي في العاصمة الجزائرية قائمة تضم 25 لاعبا غاب عنهم محرز، وإسلام سليماني، وسفيان فيغولي ويوسف بلايلي، تحسبا لملاقاة غينيا وأوغندا يومي 6 و10 يونيو المقبل، ضمن الجولتين الثالثة والرابعة من التصفيات الإفريقية المؤهلة لنهائيات كأس العالم 2026. وقال بيتكوفيتش للصحفيين: موضوع محرز هام وقرأت عنه الكثير في الصحف. في معسكر شهر مارس، اتفقت حينها مع اللاعب على انه عندما تكون له رغبة في العودة للمنتخب سيكون مرحبا به. وضعت اسم محرز في القائمة الموسعة الخاصة بمباراتي غينيا وأوغندا لكن لم أتلق أي معلومة بشأنه. وأضاف: محرز ليس مستعدا للعودة للمنتخب حاليا، لكن أبواب المنتخب ستكون دائما مفتوحة له.
